Flower power

I started this card so enthusiastically using a fab sketch from the http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/ (no 33) but then came grounding to a halt over .............. flowers!
No matter what I tried nothing seemed to work. LOL ........I started this card on Saturday and its taken me until today to finally finish it! Needless to say it's way too late for the sketch challenge now. Oh well, never mind 'cos they have another great sketch for their new challenge for this fortnight.
Now as luck would have it when I checked out the new House Mouse challenge would you believe it ..............it's Flower Power! Yay....perfect!
So here it is....

Another challenge card :o)

I must be getting quicker, I've made 3 card this weekend so far. Now I know compared to some it may not seem very many, but for me that's going some. And I am aiming for one more! Can only show you 2 though 'cos the other one is on it's way to a very special little lady soon to be wed (yes, you know who you are)

So, here is the one you can peek at....

I have used the fab sketch in this weeks http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ challenge, love the clean lines and reckon it goes perfectly with this weeks http://justcutebears.blogspot.com/ challenge, they want to see "One for the boys"
(Eeeeek just noticed that I am about 2 1/2 hours too late for Just cute bears challenge)
I have kept it clean and uncluttered and just added faux stitching around the panels for a bit of 'manly' detailing. No colouring as the image was stamped onto patterned papers and decoupaged...........I do like this method, find it rather therapeutic and relaxing.

The postie delivered my new LOTV stamps this morning.....yippy.....so guess what I will be playing with tonight? Although I am feeling rather guilty about having a few (cough, cough)
Penny Black stamp that I haven't used in quite some time. Best I check out the Penny Black challenge blog and the LOTV challenge blog!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I hope it's a good one!
Hugs

Sharing Sherbet ~ Heartstrings

Another fabby stamp from http://www.pollycraftdesigns.co.uk/
this one is called Heartstrings and I love her! Again a pleasure to colour. I have added just a wee bit to the original but only because I wanted to fit my card in with a few challenges. Trouble is I was having so much fun with her & my embellishments......... I kind a lost the plot a bit and went off on my own sweet way, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

So the challenges it does fit.....

http://critterchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ ~ A colour combo of Pink, Purple & Green
http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ ~ Bling! Looking at the rules I think I am OK for this one as I have used my new Marianne Creatables and my embossing tool to make the flower & foliage. I had intended to emboss the pale green card with Swiss Dots, but got carried away with the glue before I remembered! My Bling comes in the form of Dew drops, little flower brads with gem stone centres and Stickles glitter on her fairy wings.
http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ ~ Touchy feely! The girlies wanted textures this week and that's the bit I got carried away with! I have layered flowers, buttons, brads, gems, dew drops, ribbon and some fab smooth, soft hearts from Cloud 9 Designs which I have stuck over the hearts on her string. Ooooh they feel lovely!
And that's me lot!
Back to school soon :0( so I had better make the most of the weekend and have another play while I can.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend & all this lovely sunshine.

A Christmas Hug!

After a stressful trip up to Natural History museum in London yesterday (note to self NEVER visit during school holidays again!) I was soooooooo happy to find the postie had delivered some stamps I was lucky enough to win on http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

What better way to unwind. So with the kids in bed and a cuppa by my side I played.

Oh what a joy this little lady is to colour! She is coloured with Promarkers, the bauble with pearlescent watercolour paints and finished with Stickles glitter.
Here's a close up to show the sparkle ( I hope).

Challenges:
http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ ~ Used their fab sketch
http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ ~ This weeks is a colour challenge to use Brown & Pink plus Yellow or Green. Ok, I know there is not a lot of it, but I have used green!
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/ ~ H is for Holly ......spotted the green yet?
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ ~ Cutie pie.......and she sure is!
http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ ~ S is for Sparkle

Gotta dash......busy, busy, busy!

Birthday wishes.....

Needed to make a birthday card for my daughter's friend's 13th birthday. Her request was for cute, & likes yellows & greens. So this is what I made.........

Just love using this LOTV image and had a go with my sewing machine on this one. Not the neatest of work, but at least the machine saw daylight for a bit (doesn't happen often)
OK..... so onto a few challenges:
http://critterchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ I have used their sketch, with a little artistic licence. I rotated it anticlockwise 180* .......and the three dots slipped down the side of the oval a tad and ended up on my ribbon! But I did include their optional extra ~ gingham. :o)
http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ Woo hoo........Anything goes!
http://totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/ ~Textures .... my lumpy sewing, soft flowers, bumpy buttons & fluffy threads and of course this Gorjussly cute bear!
Off to make a yummy hot chocolate before bed!
Thanks for visiting.

Raspberry Red....

.....Red is what the DT team over at the
http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ are looking for in this fortnights challenge. Not a colour I would normally choose to work with, unless it's a Crimble card. I do fine it quite a depressing colour, not sure why.
I have used the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge to help me along
http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ and here is what I came up with....

Papers ~ PM Raspberry Tones
Card ~ Core'dinations Red Rose
Image ~ Sarah Kay
Text ~ Craft work cards
Embellishments from stash
Colour ~ Water coloured image & edged with Tim Holtz Tattered Rose ink

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Easter!

Hope you are all enjoying the Easter sunshine even if it is still a bit chilly. Have had a very quiet and peaceful day here, with both Hubbie & daughter poorly & very sleepy. So have taken full advantage and made a card for a few challenges in between distributing drinks, tissues & sympathy.

Challenges:
http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/ I have followed their fab sketch, I really do love this one!

http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ I did hesitate over this weeks challenge from the Pollycraft team as its a recipe one ......gulp! You need to use the following:
4 x papers, 3 x embellishments, 2 x ribbon/lace and 1 x image.
The 4 x papers did scare me until I remembered a card I made at a class in the Glitter Pot ages ago. Instead of colouring the image you stamp it onto different papers, in this case 4 different papers, and decoupage the layers. It does take time and is a bit fiddly but I love the results. My card has up to 8 layers. So that took care of that part, then I have embellishments ~ flowers, dew drops & a gem stone for the dot over the letter i and the 2 ribbons are layered together at the top and of course there is 1 image.........job done!
http://justcutebears.blogspot.com/ have a colour combo this week of YELLOW & GREEN perfect Spring colours!
Hmmmmmmm I can smell my gammon cooking, must be nearly done now, must go and see.

Yummy Easter treats....

I needed something in which I could post Easter treats to my niece in. The only suitably sized thing I could find indoors was an empty chocolate box, so I set about altering it.
Nothing seemed right for covering the box until I remembered that I had a sample of gold wallpaper that had spotted sometime ago and just couldn't resist. It has the most gorgeous texture, almost soft to touch! Only just had enough to cover my choccie box & it's not to easy to glue down either so a couple of staples were used discretely.
With box & lid covered I have decorated it simply with a fab House Mouse Easter image cut with oval nesties & a few fabric flowers with Dew Drop centres and an organza ribbon tied around the lid & finished with a knot. Text done on PC.
Here is a view of the whole box...

Here is the top view...
The front view...

And the best bit.......the scrummy filling!
I would like to enter my box for the following fab challenges:
Thanks for dropping by!
