Happy birthday Dad!

Hi, hope you all enjoyed the fab weather we had over the weekend. I had my first swim in the sea for 2010 and can't wait for the school summer hols to enjoy many more of the beach days.....fingers crossed. Really must shed a few pounds (or perhaps that should be stones) before then though!!!

It was hubbies birthday Sunday and I was so pleased to find this image http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/jims-resting-place-pi-306.html
from the Digi stamp boutique, I just had to have it!
If you've read my post on the 16th re-hammocks you'll understand why. This is the card I made using it for him from one of the kids....
I have followed the sketch from this fortnights Sketch & Stash challenge and used my new digi image and dug out a Cuttlebug alphabet set 'Olivia' that hasn't seen daylight for a while. The papers are fairly new for me and are digi papers from http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/
Coloured with Promarkers, embellies from stash.
Thanks for dropping by!

Cute Card Thursday challenge ....

....is a sketch by Claudia.
Earlier this week my 10 year old son decided he wanted to make his Dad a birthday card for this Sunday. He didn't want any of my images, so set about drawing his own. So I cut him a suitable card making size piece of card and.......can you believe this.....I left him alone with my Promarkers!!! Gulp! (I must be loosing the plot!)
I needn't have worried though (Phew!) he was very gentle and careful with my babies.
He oh so carefully went over his pencil sketch with a Promarker fineliner and then set about colouring in.
:0) Kept him quiet for ages :0)
Having finished his colouring he decided enough was enough and Mum could turn it into a card. So here is the finished product.

I used the sketch from this weeks http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ and kept is as clean and simple as I could as James is picture is quite a busy master piece.
I'm sure his Dad is going to love his card and James is very pleased with it too and my Promarker are just fine......so all's well that ends well!
Only trouble is James doesn't like his felt pens now and now wants Promarkers!!! Eeeeek!
Off to hide mine quick.

Put your feet up Dad!

Well that's the message to my FIL on Father's day this Sunday.........yep another last minute card, but if I post it on the way to work tomorrow it should get there in time.....just!
I wanted to keep it fairly clean & unfussy seeing as it's for a male, and thought that Arianna's sketch for this fortnights Sunday Sketch & Stash challenge was just perfect for the job.
http://sundaysketchandstamp.blogspot.com/ and my card also fits in with this weeks Just Cute Bear challenge ~ Here comes summer (oh I do hope so!) http://justcutebears.blogspot.com/

I was giggling to myself while colouring this image because I got in from work one day last week to find my OH well chuffed with himself over a new purchase. He's only gone and bought a hammock for the garden! LOL.....all we need now is two trees to attach it too, but hey that's gonna be his problem.....I'm sticking to my comfy deck chair.

Henry's back.....

...... I just can't help myself, he's so adorable!
I may be getting really ahead of myself for Christmas 2010 but I am soooo last minute with challenges! My card fits in with two challenges, the first which ends tonight, is the ABC Christmas challenge ~ L for Lights, and of course Henry is carrying his lantern. http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/
The second challenge is a fab Sketch from the Sketch & Stamp team http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/

Not the greatest of photo's but the light has faded and I had to use the flash, that will teach me for being so late finishing! And to think both these challenges are set fortnightly so it['s not as if I've only had a week.
Note to self: Must be more organised.......no make that must need more craft time :0)
Still need to make a Father's day card.......eeeeek!

Thanks for visiting

Sherbet ~ Heartstrings

Hi there,
Hope you are enjoying the weekend so far. So glad the sun has returned my poor washing machine has been doing some serious over time today. Yay.....I can actually see the bottom of the laundry bin!

I did make time for a spot of crafting in between hanging out washing. And with the footie on tonight I shall be creeping off for a bit more crafting. There are so many fab sketches to follow this week I was spoiled for choice. So I went by date order and as the Cuttlebug Spot challenge ends at 8pm tomorrow night that's the one I did and here it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sitting Summer Tilda

Another quick posting tonight.....really tired so off for an early night in a bit. I had intended to post this much earlier but my Mum phoned and that was the end of that plan!
I followed this weeks Just Magnolia theme which was 'folded lace'. They have a fab little tutorial on how to and gorgeous DT cards to see if you fancy playing with lace, but like me you will be too late to enter the challenge. By the time I had finished chatting on the phone I had missed the deadline by 24 minutes!
I have used the sketch from the Sunday Sketch Challenge (#29) by Sem which seemed to be just perfect with the pleated lace theme.
Sorry the pics a wee bit dark.
Hope you like it!

Special friends....

Just a quick post before the gang return from school. I made this card for a special friend hoping to put a little smile on her face. I have used this weeks sketch from the Sketch Saturday crew (week #106) and what a fab one it is too! http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/
The white scrolls are cut from a lovely shimmery paper which I love but can't get any more :0(
Here's a angled pic which shows the shimmer......I hope!
Added some Stickles glitter glue for a tab more glitz around the image and text bits.
Got to dash......the first one has arrived home!

Fishing fun....

Realisation that June brings Father's day , my Mum's birthday, my husband's birthday as well as a couple of friends birthday's sent me into a crafting frenzy......well more of a panic actually.
That said, I am well chuffed with myself for completing two cards today! A minor miracle at the pace I normally craft at. I've not quite made up my mind as to whether this one is going to be a Father's day one or Hubbies birthday one yet.

Thank goodness for challenge inspiration!
I have used the sketch by Bev from the Lili of the valley challenge as I think it's perfect for a male card. And in keeping with the new challenge rule I have used this super cute LOTV image. http://liliofthevalleythursdaychallenge.blogspot.com/
My card also fits the following 3 challenges ~
The Cuttlebug Spot.......yay they are back after a little holiday. Welcome back guys! Their theme is 'Dads & Grads'
Simon says.....Father's day/Male
And the Papertake team want 'Fun, Fun, Fun!' ......OK, I admit fishing is not really my idea of fun, but to some it is!
And that's me lot for tonight. I have to start work at 7am tomorrow so it's high time I was tucked up in my bed.
Thanks for visiting!
Night night

In the garden......

......and with this gorgeous weather why not! Lets hope the sunshine is here to stay. I have been making the most of half term and fitting some extra crafting time in this week and catching up with some challenges and blogs. Here's the card I finished last night.
I have used the sketch from fortnights Sketch & Stash challenge 36. http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/
Just LOVE the simplicity of this sketch. From my stash I have used this fab Penny Black image which I have to admit has not seen an ink pad for quite some time.....Shame on me!
And this image fits in beautifully with this weeks Penny Black challenge ~ In the garden! http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/
Finally over at Critter Sketch challenge they are looking for flowers & the colour purple this week.
Off to do a spot of gardening now, enjoy the sunshine!

Playing with Punches....

On a resent visit to The Glitter Pot I spent some of my birthday pennies on a few punches. I finally got around to having a play last night and used them on this card to create the flowers and foliage. My favorite punch is the one I used for the foliage, this Martha Stewart Glacial Snowflake punch!

(A great tip from one of the demonstrator's there.........thanks!)

And here is my card...

Challenges:
http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ Challenge 114 ~ No design papers
http://totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/ Challenge 32 ~ Wings!
http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ Week 105 and it's their birthday.... Happy 2nd Birthday!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!
Hugs Kaz

ABC meets Basic Grey

Yay! Half term has arrived, and so has the rain......typical!
Still the kids have been happily amusing themselves this morning, OH is grafting and I have sneaked away for a play :0)
Had a quick peek at some challenges and set about making a card. I have combined two challenges
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/ This fortnight challenge (which ends today!) is K is for Kisses.......saucy lot! Couldn't find any images with any kissing going on, so have doodled kisses around my image......hope that counts.
http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/ Challenge 21 ~ a sketch by Martine, and a very lovely one it is too.

Image ~ Penny Black ... 'Jolly Holly' (the smaller version from the Christmas critters set)
Papers ~ Basic Grey ... 'Wassail laurel leaves'
Craftwork cards card candy ... 'Raspberry ripple'
Core'dinations card
Ribbon/thread/lacy stuff from stash.
Just had to have a go at threading my ribbons through the lacy stuff after receiving a beautiful birthday card from a fab crafty friend Jo who used this idea on my card. Thanks for the inspiration Jo!
Right time for a spot of lunch then it's off to the dentist with the kids for a quick check up.
Planning on catching up with some great blogs later :0)

Have a great day & thanks for visiting!
