More Christmas...............lol

Well there's only another 328 day till Christmas! :0)

Having been experimenting on a scrap of card with heat embossing powders for yesterdays card, I was left with this embossed image Penny Black ~ Majestic. Just couldn't let it go to waste so out came the liquid pearls and distress inks. I have used this lovely sketch from the
Winter Wonderland team http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/ and came up with this....

They are having their very first blog hop starting this Sunday so why not pop over and join in the fun! http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/01/blog-hop-reminder.html

Have fun!

Nearly Feb but still doing Christmas!

OK.............so it's the end of Jan.....but I am still enjoying making Christmas cards!
It's Henry's fault. He's just sooooooo adorable I can't leave him alone. :0)
And here he is again.....

The ABC challenge http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/
for M is Masking........eeeek! Not done this before. Thank goodness for the tutorial they have! So having watched that, with post it notes at the ready I had a go. After a couple of bodged attempts
(I can really see the advantage of clear stamps now!) and trying a few different background images I settled for Henry skating passed this Penny Black tree " Majestic" The tree has been heat embossed using Black Sparkle powders & is lovely and sparkly. The text is a Hero Art stamp also heat embossed.
I used the fab sketch from this weeks http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ challenge. Tweaked
it just a tad and put gems in the corners 'cos I ran out of space for anything bigger!
Thank for visiting.
Have a great weekend!

Faux grids & lots of pink!

OK..... who's pinched most of the links that were on my side bar???
They have disappeared! Weird as I can see them if I go into customise.
Oh well I am sure they will reappear when there good and ready.

It does make blog hopping more of an effort though, and as I had lost my mojo and done very little crafting this last week, I NEED them back.........pretty please!

Anyhow, I did find some unexpected inspiration when I went shopping Saturday with my daughter. We popped into Poundland and I spotted some BIG bags of flower die cuts. They had them in 3 colour sets and each bag has flowers in 4 sizes, they layer up really nicely! Well.....I just had to get some! In pinks, lilacs and white/ivory.

After browsing through some challenges I was off......one of the quickest cards I have made. Really must craft this way more often.
So, this weeks Papertake challenge http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/
is 'Pretty Pink Papertake' so out came the pink flowers & pearls & chalks.
And this weeks Housemouse challenge http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/
is called 'Faux grid'. Now I must admit this one seemed a bit scary, until I had a peek at all the fabulous DT cards. I decided to play with my embossing board to create embossed grid lines which I have lightly chalked in pink to highlight them a bit.

This colour is a real pickle to photo, especially in poor light, try as I might this is the best I can do. The pinks are Bazzill card Petal Soft & Sweetheart........honest! the flowers are quite a good match to the Bazzil card too.
Image is "Maxwell's note" a Housemouse stamp of course......he's so cute!

And that's it for now............off to play with some more flowers!
Thanks for stopping by.

Cute kitty....

Hi
Hope you have all had a great weekend!
All the snow has gone from here now............but the weather man has said we are due another load on Wednesday, again! What is it with snow on Wednesdays!?!
I could get used to working 2 days, having a 'snow day' then back for 2 days. Sure does make the week go by real quick!
Managed to grab some craft time over the weekend and have used 2 challenges for inspiration.
The papertake challenge http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ is a sketch this week, and what a great one it is too! Thanks Dawny P!
I have combined the sketch with the Cute Card Thursday challenge
http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ which is to use the colours Pink & Grey......fab combination!

Penny Black image
Woodware text
PM papers ~ grey/white
Bazzill card ~ pinks
Pink gems from stash
Glossy accents on the roses with a little micro glitter.

Better picture plus home schooling....

.....it's niggling me that the colours look so different from real life due to poor light that I just had to post a better pic. Would have deleted the other one & replaced it but haven't figured out how to do that yet!

Now that one is a bit better!

With all this snow the kids have missed lots of school, but the learning has continued at home.
My two have been developing their problem solving skills, communication skills, social skills, their knowledge of the world around them, construction and health & safety and the physics of gravity.
And this is the result.....

It stands about 4 feet tall and had ensured that they have had plenty of fresh air (Brrrrr) and loads of exercise, and tired them out rather nicely!! :0)
Hope you've had some snow fun too.
Take care

One card, four challenges...

Had a lovely evening playing last night and really enjoyed combining the elements of four challenges that caught my eye. Good job I finished it too as having spent what seemed like hours helping to clear the school car park of snow this morning, I have a really HUGE broken blister on the palm of my right hand.......it's soooooooo sore! No crafting for me tonight :0(

Still gives me a chance to catch up on all those fab blogs out there :0)
OK, on to the challenges....

Now Simon says http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/ "Hot chocolate" or to use the colour combo Pink & Brown.....ooooh delish! Sat and ate some yummy choccie whilst making (for inspiration purposes of course)

The Winter Wonderland team http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/
has this great sketch to follow

And the Just Magnolia girls http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/ have a super end of the month special challenge ~ Paper Pleating. I had never tried this but it looks sooooo fab on all their DT cards, I just had to have a go. They even have a tutorial on their blog to follow, thanks guys! :0)

And last, but not least, the Cute Card Thursday Challenge is "All new" http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/

The new elements on my card are: Paper pleating, I used a new punch my lovely secret Santa send me (xxx) and some new Crystal Stickers pink pearls and I used new image that a friend kindly sent me (xxx to you too!)

Winter wonderland meets Papertake.....

Amazingly I am still enjoying making Christmas cards, perhaps its all that snow!

I treated myself to a couple of Henry's just after Christmas so this is his first time out......oooooh he's just adorable! I chose the colours to fit in with the Winter Wonderland challenge ~ Cinnamon, Lime & Berries. http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/asblogchallenge.blogspot.com/ and coloured him with my new distress inks......am really loving these!

My card also fits in with this weeks Papertake challenge http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/
which is New Beginnings.....and as I said my Henry is new and so are the distress inks and..... ooooh nearly forgot.....I also used a new inverted corner punch that a lovely secret Santa sent me......thank you so much Santa!
So here is my card...sorry the colours don't look the same in the pic as in real life, good light is in short supply today!

Loads of snow means more of craft time!

Well, its not going to last forever so I had better make the most of it!

Having dithered about for a few days I have finally finished this card. It all started when I
re-visited some Cosmic shimmers that have sat on a shelf unused for ages. Try as I might I just can't seem to get the desired results with my mist bottle ........it's blobs & more blobs for me. However, I couldn't just waste my efforts so I have picked the best of the bunch and cut an oval with my nesties...........and have hidden the worst bits with angels!

Well chuffed with myself when I then realised I could fit this into no less than THREE challenges :0)
The first challenge, and my reason for starting in the first place is the new ABC Christmas Challenge ~ A is for Angels http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/
I just love these cute Judi-Kins angels so they had to be used.
Now as luck would have it, the sister challenge to the previously mentioned one,
http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ is L is for Layers, and as I decoupaged the angels with up to 4 layers this fits in just nicely.
My third challenge is this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge
http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/
which as the name suggests uses this great sketch which I rotated 90*

So here's my card.... hope you like it & thanks for stopping by.

Wonder how many more craft hours I can squeeze out of this week?

Sketch & Stash Challenge 26

Snowed in again today.....Shame! What a great excuse for a craft session :0)
Kids went off to the park with sledges & friends leaving me to craft peacefully.
Made this card for a friend's son who will be 13 very soon using this great sketch set by

My new item of stash was Tim Holtz distress inks which I used two of to colour in some of the image, 'antique linen' for the hair & 'weathered wood' for his trousers. I am loving colouring with these inks and would have used them for all the image but the card didn't behave the way I am used to and looked really blotchy when wet so I changed colouring medium. Seems to have dried OK but I didn't add any shading in case I messed it up completely. Anyway here's my card....
Hope the postie is able to deliver it in time!
Thanks for visiting.....

Ooops... forgot these two

A few weeks ago whilst blog hopping I came across this site http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/ and way too many images took my fancy! I was a good girl (for once) and only bought 2 images both of which I used on Chrimble cards. They are digi images and are so easy to use & colour, I love them! I know I'll be back for more very soon....lol

Here's how I used them.....

Cute little guy isn't he!

Made 2 versions using the dove image, again lovely to use, thank you Teri at Delicious Doodles!

Right, off now to try & finish my next project.

New Year...new card, and a few older ones too!

Hiya
A very Happy New Year to you all in blogland. I hope you all had a fab Christmas & are keeping happy & well. I did enjoy Christmas but am now looking forward to getting back to normal (I think) not to mention shedding a few pounds!
I have my final cards of 2009 to load and my very first for 2010!

I'll start off with my first card of 2010 for my first challenges for 2010....
The lovely team over at http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/ theme is 'Thank You', very handy for this time of year! Plus I have used a lovely sketch set by the http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/
team and here is the results...sorry about the focus but its dark now and as I am working tomorrow I won't have any daylight hours then either.

And here are the last of last years.....
This one was for my Mum, bless her she can't see very well but I still enjoyed making it for her and she did like the feel of the ribbon as it is really soft & very pretty (must remember to get some more)

This one was for my lovely Hubbie.... Oh I do love this cute Henry image!

The next was from my daughter to her brother....she used to like making her own cards but not this year so I made it for her......oh well maybe its something she will come back too in time.

And finally this was for my daughter...

I am so looking forward to blog hopping in 2010 and seeing all that fabulous inspiration that's out there, so I will say a big thank you to all the blog challenge teams & all you crafty bloggers
for keeping me inspired and motivated to keep on crafting.
Bless you all!
Hugs
