My favourite five makes from 2010

Well Debby is back with another invite for us to pick out our favourite five makes for
2010 and just look at the fab candy she is offering........ very nice!

Now seeing as Debby couldn't choose just five I am hoping she will forgive me for
doing the same! Here is my top fav makes for 2010....
Now this one I like as I just loved using the spotty digi papers from Pink Petticoat
and I have used my first love .......... Penny Black!

I think this one is my favourite......love the image, love raffia, love MS punches and have used one of my fav colour combos.

Having discovered Kenny K digi images I just had to have this one and LOVE colouring & using her. In fact I like this image so much she featured in my next two cards!

LOTV are another addiction.......their stamps are just sooooooooooooooo adorable!!! And they do have some gorgeous images which are so suitable for male cards (which is a megga bonus for me) This wee lad fishing is a must have! I loved the way the water worked out on this card, with a gentle shimmer, hopefully this shows in the close up.

And finally another LOTV image, I am counting these two as one 'cos it's the same image, same layout just a different colour......but I love them both!

Phew! Well there you have it. I hope you like my choices, I know I have really enjoyed peeking through all cards peeps have chosen for their top 5 ish!

A huge thank you to those who have taken the time to visit my little blog and leave words of encouragement & support, your comments are very much appreciated!
Sending you best wishes for a healthy & happy New Year & look forward to visiting you in 2011.
Big hugs
Kaz xx
P.S Sorry about this post I just can't get it to behave nicely!!!! :0(

Favourite five Christmas cards from 2010

Debby over at A Scrapjourney has invited us to join her in posting our favourite five Christmas cards for 2010 and I have really enjoyed looking at every ones favourites so I thought I would join in with mine.

My first is using a fab Penny Black stamp, it was this huge range of cute stamps that got me hooked on card making! And I just love the Hellebore flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts!

My next card features a Tim Holtz embossing folder, I cut out & glittered the snowman, and a LOTV circle sentiment.......ooooooh these are just FAB!

Next comes this super cute little Santa (a RAK from a lovely friend) I don't know who he is by but I do need to find out 'cos I love him!

One of my favorite LOTV images, and there are a lot I adore, is next. Coloured with Promarkers and extra depth added with Prisma's, first time I have used this method and I was pleased with the results.

And my final card is again a LOTV image coupled with a beautiful Jak Heath design paper, oh boy she is one talented lady! I messed up colouring the penguins first time and ended up decoupaging over the top with some more that I coloured but ended up really liking it this way.

Hope you like my offering for Christmas 2010 & thanks for dropping over.
Have a great New Year!
Hugs

Twas the night before Christmas........

.........when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of suger-plums danced in their heads.
And Mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid that eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the pourch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St Nichloas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes, how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
that shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

I just wanted to wish all my visitors a very happy & peaceful Christmas

& all the best of health & happiness for 2011!

Not a Christmas card...............for a change

............... needed a gothish style birthday card quick last (birthday today!)
Eeeeek goth........Eeeeeek by today! After much head scratching and a few tantrums I located an image that lovely friend Uma had sent me some time ago. Phew! Thanks Uma! Although I love the Ching Chou Kuik images I am rather daunted by the thought of having to colour them.
But needs must, and last night I needed to, so here's the out come. I wanted the hair to be darker but chickened out at a 'grey' stage of colouring before I mucked things up completely.
Note to self .... need to practice colouring dark hair!
Thanks for stopping by!

Snow kitty....

Thought I'd just share a couple of pics taken in the garden today.

Our daft kitty actually seems to enjoy the snow!! He spent ages out in it, leaping & pouncing about.

Bless him his little paws were sooooooooo cold when he finally came in doors. Spent the rest of the day in true kitty style..............................sleeping!
That's it for me now, I'm off to my bed.
Nighty night.

Tim Holtz snowman....

Brrrrrrrrr hope you are keeping snug & safe in all this snow & ice. Went out yesterday for a little snow walk & took some pics but have gone into hibernation today........way too icy for me!Fingers crossed the sun will melt most of it & the rain will do the rest tomorrow.
Had a play with my Tim Holtz embossing folders last night and made this....

The papers look darker and bluer than they really are, they are much softer with a hint of green in real life. The sparkle does not show up either :0( The snowman and the circle sentiment have had a generous layer of Craft Companions spray & sparkle.
Challenges:~
ABC challenge - Ice & snow (plenty of that around!)
Cute Card Thursday - The blues
Dutch Dare - Christmas card, tag or ornament
Thanks for stopping by....
Warm hugs
